St. Julien is arguably our favourite Medoc appellation with the highest proportion of Cru Classe vines. Another family estate - the Sentouts have been proprietors since the 17th Century. A good, attractive St. Julien at an accessible price!

This Chateau highlights the peculiarities of the appellation strictures and the immense enjoyment when one discovers a gem outside the system. The estate is actually part of the vineyards of a renowned Margaux estate, but the vines are just outside the strictly drawn line.
Rare and perfumed Rioja grape which is difficult to grow but can yield mulberry scented wines of interest: intense black fruits, red cherries and red plumbs.
A wine of legend first elaborated by the monks carrying out their penance at the Desterrats Estate. Strangely some enormous barrels were vanishing... Some said it was the angels taking them to heaven! A Grenache, Syrah and Carignan blend with Rich Ripe Strawberries, seasoned with white pepper and hint of oak.
